May 2022 | Seventh and eighth graders at three schools have completed 12 weeks of cooking lessons, nutrition education, and professional development. The ACE program will now be implemented in schools across New York City.

URA Sam Heller winner of 1k Award for BGCH Program
2022| This spring, one of our undergraduate research assistants Samantha Heller earned a Community Engaged Reflection Award from the Cornell College of Human Ecology. Samantha wrote about her work co-facilitating the Youth Engagement and Action for Health (YEAH!) program last summer with the Leak Research Group. The Community Engaged Reflection Award includes $1,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of Harlem, the community partner where the YEAH! program took place.

May 2022 | Our doctoral student, Navika Gangrade, graduated with a PhD in Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Gangrade will be teaching at SUNY Downstate starting Fall 2022.
